What they say
The boy and the girl at the reception were amazingly friendly and helpful! They gave us very good recommendations and advised us well on the weather at the Dead Sea and which road is scenic and worth it.
The hotel can give you a very good discount on the day pass at the Crowne Plaza Resort at the Dead Sea – 25JD per person including a great lunch (without the discount it’s 40JD).
The breakfast is delicious and plenty. You can help yourself with coffee, tea, and water all day. This is a small gesture from the hotel but it really makes a difference.
We were in room 202 and it was very clean, warm and comfortable. Actually this was the best place we’ve been for a week in Jordan (with the exception of the Beduin Camp in Wadi Rum but it is in the desert so it’s totally different).
I can’t recommend this place and those people enough!”

When you go back to Madaba for the 3rd time, you go there, initially, to visit friends. Of course, that’s why I also went back to Hotel Black Iris of Diana and Yanal. The hospitality of the entire staff is also a very important reason for me. They are all friendly and helpful. Add the delicious dinners to that and you have a perfect overall picture.

“Black Iris Hotel is another classy place with very reasonable prices. It also comes warmly recommended by readers. The stylish rooms, some overlooking a pleasant garden, have spotless bedrooms and some are very spacious. They serve good breakfasts. It’s easy to spot from Al-Mouhafada Circle.”

“We planned on staying in Madaba only for 2 days and stayed for the remaining 4 days of our trip thanks to Saleem and his family’s amazing hospitality. Madaba is a perfect place to plan day trips to the Dead Sea, Dana Nature reserve and Wadi Mujib. The best place to stay by far in all of Jordan is The Black Iris Hotel. All of the people at Black Iris are friendly caring people and it’s guaranteed that you’ll make new friends there. “

“I visited Madaba Jordan without any plan. Walked in to Black Iris Hotel without any reservations. The owner Diana and Yanal were very friendly and welcoming. They gave me a room on the top floor. It was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. They also helped me to arrange tours to the Dead Sea, Mount Nebo and Jerash. I planned to stay only for 1 night but ended up staying for 3 nights. Breakfast was awesome too. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any travelers.”

“I had been looking for a less expensive travel option in Jordan other than staying in Amman where the prices are generally higher and more in line with a major city. I travel through Jordan on my way to home for a night or two and found the Black Iris Hotel in various travel websites and gave it a try. Needless to say it is a great option for someone who is looking for a clean, friendly and very affordable option. I sent an email to the hotel website and received a prompt reply from the owners. He booked my room and arranged to have a taxi pick me up at the airport. Upon arrival at the hotel, I made arrangements to hire a taxi to go to Mt. Nebo and then do some holiday shopping before heading home for the holidays. The same taxi driver picked me at 6am the next morning and took me to the airport. Great experience and once again a great value.
I stayed in a single room on the ground floor. It was clean and comfortable with a private bathroom and shower. I have not had a meal at the hotel, but reports are quite positive.
Enjoy this little gem in the friendly country of Jordan and go home knowing you have a great room at a great value waiting for you.”

I absolutely loved staying at Black Iris. Altough I arrived in the evening without booking, the lovely family running the hotel found me a room (it was high season!). I had planned to stay 2/3 nights… finally I stayed 5 nights. I felt at home. The hotel and the room are SUPER CLEAN. I’m a girl travelling on my own and I highly recommend this place for lonely travellers. The location is very convenient and peaceful cause the hotel is in an alley and travellers in middle/south east/ asia know pretty well how much important is quiet and silence once back to the hotel. I really enjoyed Black Iris. I have a great memory of the place and the family.

“Black Iris Hotel gives you great value. It’s central location is excellent. The rooms are basic but they come with spotless bathrooms. The owners are extremely hospitable. The owner didn’t just help advise and arrange sightseeing trips to Jerash, Dead Sea, crusader castles etc, he even personally ran out to a shop in a neighbouring street to get me Supa Glue since my shoe’s sole had come unstuck! I have seldom come across such hospitality.
Black Iris Hotel is worth every cent you pay.”
